April Salon: Fighting Creeping Creationism

The Jefferson Center April 14 4m Salon will present a PBS Bill Moyers program on stealth efforts to insert creationism and ID in school curricula, and heroic efforts to fight back. A student activist and author Susan Jacoby are featured.

This program is offered in place of our previously scheduled field trip to Briscoe Geology Park, which has to be postponed to inclement forecast weather.

Member BJ Turner will provide sumptuous nibble and drink offerings during our pre-program social time. And of course plenty of time for comment and discussion after the program. This is a big problem: 75% of US high school biology teachers either downplay evolution or boldly teach ID or creationism!
