The AHA, whose current motto is “Good without a God,” was founded in 1941 with roots reaching to 1927 when professors and seminarians at the University of Chicago began the Humanist Fellowship. A magazine was begun then and the AHA still publishes The Humanist now and a quarterly newsletter, Free Mind. The organization does education, media work, legal work and annual conferences as well as many other activities. The website is a great resource for understanding humanism and getting involved in their work.
