What is so special about Mars in our history, our popular culture, and our scientific focus? Dr. Martin will touch on all these, describe recent findings from spacecraft missions, and also what is coming up in the near future.
Terry Martin is a retired planetary scientist specializing in the Mars atmosphere. He worked at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena from 1979 to 2008, taking part in the Viking mission to Mars, the Mars Global Surveyor, and most recently the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
Cost is $5 per person, free to SOU students and faculty.
