Our annual end-of-year potluck social event will take place Sunday, December 9 at 5:30pm in Pioneer Hall. Pioneer Hall is located across from lovely Lithia Park at 73 Winburn Way, a short block from the downtown Ashland plaza. We’ll be able to reflect on the year just past, and look forward to the next. Plates, cups, utensils and napkins, and wine, beer, water and sparkling cider will be provided, courtesy of The Jefferson Center. There is a full kitchen at Pioneer Hall available for our use.
To divvy up the potluck dishes, we’ll use the astrological method we used last time, but inverted to stir the pot some, thusly:
Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces - Bring Hors d’oeuvres, hot or cold
Leo, Virgo - Bring a salad, green or fruit
Aries, Taurus, Gemini and Cancer – Bring a main course, hot or cold
Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius – Bring a dessert (Note: Your president likes chocolate chip cookies)
One of our members has donated some fabulous hand-made quilts to The Jefferson Center, and you can bid on these items during a silent auction at the potluck. Winners will be announced during dessert. Proceeds will go to The Jefferson Center.
Also, please let us know if you would be able to help with chores for this social event. We’ll need help setting up tables and chairs, and cleaning up and putting away tables and chairs at the finish. If you have a unique and desirable item you would like to donate for the silent auction, or can help out, please contact Len Eisenberg at evogeneao@gmail.com
