The IHEU is a union of over 100 humanist, ethical culture, atheist, and freethought organizations all over the world founded in 1952 with offices in London. They seek to promote and support their member groups and do so with a magazine, International Humanist News, the website, and reports such as their 2012 Freedom of Thought 2012: A Global Report on Discrimination Against Humanists, Atheists, and the Nonreligious.
They view persecution of the non religious as a human rights issue and act to publicize and take action. They hold an annual General Assembly for members groups, fund a grants program, and a world Humanist Day on June 21.
IHEU works on education issues including opposing creationism in schools, and promoting evolution teaching with contests for students, such as one by the Romanian Humanists for Darwin Day 2012.
The site has a wealth of information, a news feed, and articles. It is a great way to connect with others throughout 40 countries with Humanist groups.
