Humanists of Greater Portland

This is an organization similar to the Jefferson Center located in Portland. Among other activities, they are holding a critical thinking class based upon the book, “How to Think About Weird Things”, and sponsor a scholarship for High School Students. They describe themselves as:

A community of freethinkers in the Portland metro area, fostering camaraderie, lifelong learning, personal growth, and collective action, unfettered by supernatural beliefs or religious dogma. We engage in weekly presentations and group discussions every Sunday morning at Friendly House, a community center at NW Thurman and 26th. We offer social gatherings, cultural activities, nature excursions, self help, and community outreach. We promote social justice, advancing our ideals of equity and tolerance.
