"Brain Books" group discusses "The Secret History of Wonder Woman"

The Secret History of Wonder Woman by Jill Lepore (2014). The comic book star, created in 1941 as a genuine hero, almost became Barbie in the 1950s, and was then revived by second-wave feminism. Her history reflects the cultural ups and downs of feminism, with some fascinating, unexpected twists. Book uses archival and interview research, and includes reproductions of comics.
