Unfair: The New Science of Criminal Injustice by Adam Benforado (2015.2016)
Our legal system makes mistakes. Because of dishonest and dark-hearted people? Or, as this book argues, because the system expects people to be impartial and to judge cases based on reasoning and evidence, but our fundamental non-rational humanness is at work. Unless we uncover hidden biases, social inequality will only widen.
